Sometimes Food is More Than Food

Sometimes food is just food. Sometimes food creates community. And other times, when innovation meets food, it can disrupt a system in a powerful way to create something positive.

Everyone “Kneads” a Meal with Friends

Imagine a place where everyone feels welcomed and safe. A place where you’re greeted with smiles and connected with people through food and conversation. You can go there to have a good meal if you’re not food insecure, and if you are food insecure, you can go there for the same delicious meal free of charge.

Cheese Please! Plant-Based That Is

One of the hardest things for people to give up when eating plant-based isn’t necessarily the meat. It’s often the cheese. Cheese is just so good any way you eat it. It’s delicious uncooked on a cracker. It’s unbelievably comforting melted on pizza or mixed with noodles. You can toss it in a salad, and it’s great when it’s fried and crispy.

Chicken Piccata, and Piccata Nada

It was my mother’s birthday and I wanted to make a special lunch to celebrate. The menu decision was easy. My mom loves chicken piccata, my boys love anything chicken, and the fresh lemony tang in this dish is great for this time of year.

It’s National Barbecue Day!

Summer is on the way (or so they say), and nothing in the food world says summer more than barbecue. Today as I share this plant-based adaptation, it happens to be National Barbecue Day.

Spring is in the Air!  And it’s in the Pasta!

I am not a fan of all the spring rain and gray weather. But I am a fan of the beautiful spring green that follows. Green buds on the trees, lush green grass, and green shoots sprouting up from the ground. It just makes me feel good, and so does this pasta that was inspired by the feeling of spring.

Pantry Staples

When meal prepping, I sometimes find myself having to think on my toes as life happens and throws those curves. This is when it’s helpful to have a stocked pantry.

A Trip to the Market

If you haven’t guessed by now, food is my thing. I love to cook it. I love to eat it. I love to be around it. And if there are people who can’t enjoy food like I can, I want to fix it.
