About

I’m Rebecca Lucore, and I’m the creator, cook, and storyteller behind Equal Portion.

I’m a wife, a mom, and a foodie who’s passionate about cooking for my family and friends.  I’m a storyteller and an advocate for food equity across communities.

I’m a gluten-free vegetarian, who’s married to a vegan, and has three carnivorous boys.  I’ve spent years protecting “my joy of cooking” from the simple fact that I prepare ongoing meals for a hungry family with diverse dietary needs.  It can be exhausting, and I want everyone to feel included at my table.

But I have found that “joy” again, and you can too.  Join me here at “Equal Portion” – a space where I share with you simple adaptive tips and recipes to help you prepare a meal for your family and friends that will satisfy everyone’s pallets.  No more feeling awkward about serving someone something different.  And those old family favorites that no longer meet new dietary restrictions – we can adapt those together too.

Along this cooking journey, I’ll also share with you food stories – about people, about justice, about communities.  I experience the joy of sharing a meal and conversation with loved ones, but not everyone can experience that joy when they don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

Whether it’s a weeknight family dinner, or a parent looking for access to their child’s next meal, we all deserve an equal portion
